Holiday Dotted Pin Hole Art Templates

My kids like to create art, but they get bored with all the same methods, so every Christmas we do pin hole pictures by taking a pushpin and some construction paper and start poking holes.

But today, when I went looking online for new templates, I couldn't find anything super cute.  It's all the same old stuff (I think they're the same templates I used in second grade).  So I came up with some of my own!

You can get this one for free:

Just click THIS LINK to download.  After you've downloaded, print it on colored paper, and use a pushpin to make holes where ever there is a dot.  Then just flip your paper over to see your masterpiece!

Printable Trick-or-Treater Sign

If you're one of those brave people that leave your bowl out for trick-or-treaters to get their own candy without ringing your doorbell first, then you might as well put a cute sign with it.  So here you go, a free 8x10" printable trick-or-treater sign:

Hopefully since the sign says "please" AND "thank you" it will be a deterrent for those obnoxious teenagers who always clean out the unsupervised candy bowls.

Four of our Favorite Father's Day Printables

Sometimes I'm not as prepared for Father's Day as I should be.  Which is actually ok, because there are some seriously awesome gift ideas out there, so even when I don't come up with something original, I can still give an awesome gift.

These are my four favorite Father's Day Printables:

1- Cupcake and brownie burgers with a side of cookie fries, with instructions and free printables from Bakerella.

2- Father's Day Star Wars mega themed gift pack, with 12 free pages of printables from Sandy Toes and Popsicles.

3- Super Hero gift box for the super man of the family, with free printables from Jordan Ferney as posted on Alpha Mom.

4- Cool dad coupon printables with a cute way to package the gift, from Living Locurto.

Now, as always, I just have to make up my mind and decide which one I'm actually going to use for Father's Day...... it's a tough call, I love them all so much.

Free Shamrock Party Printables

St. Patrick's Day is coming, and if you're throwing a shamrock party to celebrate then this is the printable pack for you!  It comes with 3 cupcake wrappers, 2 small fry boxes, 2 pillow boxes, 9 two and half inch circle labels, a mini flag banner, and sixteen drink flags.

Valentine Magnet Pairs

This kind of magnet is so easy to make - just print and cut out the circles, use rubber cement to attach them to the backside of craft pebble jewel thingy, and hot glue on a magnet.  I hardly doubt it could be easier.

And you'll love these magnets because they come in cutesy Valentine pairs and your kids can play matching games on your fridge, or you can give each pair away as a special lovey dovey gift.

Easter Egg Match: printable card game

Easter is literally around the corner, so have some fun with your kids by playing our free printable card game, Easter Egg Match.

You can let the littlest kids find matches by looking at the cards face up.  Or turn the cards over and play Concentration.  You can also play Go Fish, or Old Maid, or whatever other card game you can think of.  And there are fewer cards than a regular deck, so you don't have to worry about the short attention spans of little kids.

Shamrock Badges

These are multi-use Shamrock Badges that you can print out and do whatever you want with them.

Originally I was just thinking that it would be fun to use them to pin to your shirt or something on St. Patrick's day.  Then I realized that they can be used as cupcake toppers, or labels, or decorations, or magnets, or WHATEVER really.  Because they're just simple circles with shamrocks.

It's like infinite shamrock-y possibilities here.

Celebrate Leap Day

Leap year only comes around every 4 years, and is probably the least celebrated calendar-ish anomaly ever.  Because, let's face it, it's just like any other day.  But it used to hold a small amount of significance, and in case you're ever asked this question on Jeopardy, here's a tidbit of info about Leap Year:

Sometime in the 5th-ish century St. Bridget was the head of some nuns, and she was upset because these nuns were never getting marriage proposals (this was before nuns were celibate).  So she asked St. Patrick if there could be a time when women could propose to men.

And St. Patrick said, "Sure, how about every 7 years?"

And St. Bridget said, "No, how about every 4 years?"

And then he said, "Ok, that sounds fair."

And then she said, "Ok. Will you marry me?"

And he said, "Uh, no.  But I'll buy you a silk gown and give you a kiss instead."

So after that, in the British Isles during the Middle Ages, there was an unwritten law that said a woman could propose marriage to a man anytime during Leap Year.  And if that man refused her, he was required to buy her a nice dress and give her a kiss.  So sometimes, February 29th is referred to as "Ladies Day".

And I'm thinking, if that tradition still existed back when I was single, I would have been proposing right and left during Leap Year just so I could replace my entire wardrobe for free.

So let's celebrate Leap Day this year - go make a man buy you something nice!
