March 7, 2014

We had two snow days this week. At least this time, there was actually snow, but we're all pretty sick of it now.

I'm speaking in church on Sunday. I've been thinking about what I want to say, but I'm not sure how I'm going to say it yet. I have about a day left to get my thoughts straight.

Meanwhile, I need to get the awards ready for the Pinewood Derby. It's next Wednesday, and it's going to be a fun night, but I need to figure out if I want to make awards, or certificates, or pass out ribbons, or what. I DO know that I'm going to make a really fun pinewood derby track out of rice krispie treats, with little cars on top. It will be cute. And delicious. And we're having an ice cream sundae bar, so that will be fun.

I kept Thaddeus home from school on Thursday. He just needed some one on one time. We didn't do anything exciting, but it was just me and him, piddling around the house, getting things done. He helped organize the laundry room, and clean the bathrooms. And he went on some errands, and got a treat. By the end of the day, he was feeling much better about life in general, which is just what the doctor ordered. (And by doctor, I mean me. We all need mental health days every now and again.)

Today I did my first haircut and color in King William. The gal LOVED the results, and promises to be back. I really love doing hair, it's so much fun for me. I especially liked that today's gal has a little punk rock in her soul, because I gave her a FUN haircut. Lots of texture, lots of attitude, and lots of versatility. I always like haircuts that give a nod to the punk rock style, it just makes me happy. Pretty hair is overrated. Fun hair is where it's at.
