Defining Moments

Today is bittersweet.

You know how we have those moments, the ones that define who we are? In a single moment, our world changes. The person we were is no longer. In a moment, that person has become someone else.

Today, I became a different person.

This drawer held bibs. Baby bibs. For my darling babies. Who are growing up way too fast.

We don't need bibs. We haven't used them in months. Today I got rid of them.... In a matter of seconds, I became a mother of four children..... not babies. In an instant, everything I've been doing the last four years shifted. And it makes me a little sad.

I tried to fill up that drawer. I moved the aluminum foil, and the saran wrap. I moved the potholders. But nothing felt right. So for now, I have an empty drawer. Because that empty drawer is full of my favorite memories.
