The Flu is for Sissies

In the beginning, we thought it was food poisoning.

But when the people that live in this house started going down like flies, more than 24 hours after the dinner in question, we realized that we had a nasty case of the 24-hour flu.

People, I have not had the flu for at least 5 years, and I completely forgot how much it takes out of you.

The worst is over, and we have finally stopped expelling things from our bodies, and have moved on to the residual muscle ache part of things.

From this I have garnered two absolute truths:

  1. Bras are seriously overrated
  2. As is breathing

Luckily, mass consumption of Advil seems to dull the ache that is caused by inhaling and exhaling…

In other news, tomorrow is Girls Night Out! with me at Nielsen’s Frozen Custard, 6-9 pm. Be there. (just don’t hug me…. not because I’m contagious or anything… I’m just not a fan of touching other people…PERSONAL SPACE PEOPLE… I have issues.)

  1. Ugh, so sorry about the illness in your household.

I'm glad you warned me about the hugging and personal space stuff. Not because I'll be at the event this weekend, but because I will one day meet you, of that I am sure, and I am most definitely a hugger. Let's hope I remember your warning when that time arrives. :-)

  2. Then I am extremely honored to have been hugged my you:-)

  3. Ugh, I got a stomach flu (as did both of my kids) while I was pregnant, and you're right, it just takes everything out of you. It's terrible.

PS- I am the same way with hugging. Don't touch me. Not that I don't like people, I just don't like when they get too close to me.

  4. I am so glad that things are no longer being expelled from your bodies.

    You make me laugh.

  5. I fully realize that some people are huggers and that they cannot contain their need to reach out and squeeze something. Just don't expect to get hugged back.

  6. We were blowing chuncks over here too.

I'm a huger and I feel privileged to have had YOU reach out and hug me. I promise not to tell anyone.
