Holiday Weekend

Turns out we DID do something for the Fourth. I used the age old method of getting myself and everyone else ready and then shouting "Get In The Car!" at which point DadGuy sat up and said "Where we going?" and then I said "You should get dressed."

We ended up in the heart of DC, at the 4th of July Parade. And we ended up being in the BEST PLACE EVER for parades. I know some people like to sit in the middle, or at the end. Not us. We were right at the start of the parade line, which means we got to hang out with the eleventy thousand marching band members and see all the floats right in a row, at our leisure.

It was WAY fun. We did end up leaving a bit early because I didn't bring things like, you know, CHAIRS because I thought we could sit on the grass. Turns out, my kids only like to sit on the grass when everyone else is doing it. But since everyone was sitting on blankets or in chairs, they decided they didn't want to sit on the grass, AND they didn't want to stand because their legs hurt because I didn't bring the stroller and made them walk. BECAUSE I'M MEAN LIKE THAT.
