Tuesday Confessional

I hate pie crust.

I never! ever! not under any circumstance! even put a tiny smidgen of it in my mouth.

Well, I guess that's not entirely true.

Once, I ate the TOP of the crust.

But it was sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar and was much tastier than your standard pie crust.

It's just that it has no flavor.

I might as well be eating shortening.

Or flour.

OR CHOCOLATE CAKE.

  1. Wait...what?! My mind cannot. comprehend.

It's the perfect way to balance the super sweet filling.

  2. Yup, I hate pie crust too... It's so nasty!! I always eat the filling out of the crust, and leave the rest on my plate.

  6. For me, it depends on the crust. Some are nasty. Some are pretty good. But I definitely never eat it by itself.

  7. Then YOU have been eating the WRONG pie crust.

Bad pie crust is terrible. Here's a hint, if you bought it in a store, it's bad.

Good pie crust is complexly good, tasting of butter, sugar, salt, and perfectly balances the filling.

But a bad crust is awful.

  8. I only like my Grandma's pie crust recipe---it has a secret ingredient...

  9. Huh? I love the crust more than the filling. We should eat pie together and then we wouldn't waste anything.

  11. This bothered me all night.

YOU'RE (NOT)EATING THE WRONG PIE CRUST.

    I'm flustered.

Again, if it came from a store, whether an already-made pie or from a box, it's disgusting.

If you ever come out here, I'll prove you wrong.
