Home again, home again, jiggety jig

I'm home and boy howdy, does it ever feel good.

And now I get to play catch up on the housework and the laundry and everything else because as nice as it is that DadGuy stayed home with the kids, we just have two entirely different ideas of what "staying home" means.

As for the conference, it went well and I would tell you all about it, but I'm still processing and digesting and tallying receipts and whatnot.

I do want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who came and participated. It was a lot of fun for me, and I hope for you too.

I absolutely loved meeting my favorite blogging people in the flesh, especially my partners in crime, Motherboard and Leelou. You girls rock.

I also discovered that I'm a big blubbering mess and even though I thought I was "over it" (for lack of a better term) I haven't really processed my feeling about undergoing a hysterectomy at the age of 26. I mean, what's done is done, but OH MY LIFE YOU GUYS WHERE DID THOSE TEARS COME FROM?

And on that happy note, I leave you for better things... like laundry and toilet scrubbing.

  1. U know I am dying to hear all about it! C- did u cry again???? Jeesh.

  2. Welcome back! I'm glad it went well.

I'm going to BlogHer in August and I'm already a bit worried about what I'm going to find when I get home after Pete and the girls have had the place to themselves for four days.

  3. Yes Angie, because I'm a big fat crybaby.

  4. I've been waiting and waiting for this post....
and yes, laundry & toilet scrubbing are on my list today 'cause I just got back too... yay.

  5. Yeah, me too. i have a TON of dishes for me.
    and toilet scrubbing.
    AND litter box emptying.

i am SO totAlly going to Blogher someday.
    So going.
it would be so much fun! :)
    It was great meeting YOU.
    Thanks for the picture!

  6. yeah right... like I'm actually going to clean or scrub when I could be blogging :)

will everyone hate me when I admit that ManOfTheHouse totally had the house clean when I arrived home?

now will you feel better when I tell you he left the pile of crap that I'd pull out of my office and told him not to touch... and that said pile is STILL sitting there taunting me... okay, okay - I'll go put ten things away between every blog I read.

Man, you guys are downright inspirational...

  7. MomBabe, I so wish I could have been there for your panel. Even if you were a crybaby. It must have been awesome cause I heard a million people talking about how much they liked it afterward. You are awesome. And I'm totally coming to DC one day to visit. FYI.

  8. And I will totally have a room for you Julie.

P.S. We're not inspirational. AT. ALL.

  9. Love you MomBabe. We're moving to TX in a few weeks and have decided that one of our first vacations will be to DC. Let's hook up!

  10. Yeah, I heard that I missed the best moments.....sigh. Maybe next time. :)

  11. DOOOD Nicki, anytime!

  12. My Mom had the same thing happen to her. She had three girls and had been trying for a boy for years when she got in a bad car accident. That's when they were able to find a tumor and then she had to have a hysterectomy. It was really hard for her, but since then she has always said that her family is exactly how it is supposed to be. I don't know if you wanted more kids or not, but its great to know that everything happens for a reason.

  13. Next year someone else can man the registration table, and be the guardian of purses and laptops...so that I can attend your class/panel!!!

  14. I heard your panel rocked the house!

Our little baby launched, and it did pretty well, all things considered!

Thanks. I couldn't have done it without you.

  15. It was GREAT to meet you in real life. The CBC conference was a HUGE success. :)

  16. Thanks for all of your hard work. It was fun to help people get registered in the mornings and to see everyone coming in happy and excited!

  17. I can understand why you cried. It stands to reason.

    Welcome home!
