We take a moment from our regularly scheduled broadcast...

So here's the thing. The election? Is over. Obama won. Prop. 8 in California passed. Arizona Prop. 102 passed as well. I KNOW THAT A LOT OF YOU ARE TICKED. I get it. I do. I understand that some of you are sad, and that many of you are enraged.

That being said.

When you begin to attack PEOPLE instead of ISSUES, those people will fight back. And? When you attack these people, they don't change their minds... They get MORE stubborn, and stronger, and louder, and they stand their ground. They will not back down any more than you will.

I know it's only been a few days, and you feel like you got slapped in the face. Instead of telling me how unfair it is, do something about it. There will be more elections. There are more productive ways to spend your time and efforts. Make a new game plan. Work on it. But please, stop with the ranting and the raving and the personal attacks. Just. Stop.

That old saying, "sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me?" That's bull. Words hurt. They will cut you down to your very core. And we know exactly which words cause the most damage. We get right to the heart of the matter, which is why it hurts so much; because this last election was very much connected to our hearts, whichever way they leaned.

My wish is that we all take a moment, and breathe; that we go to bed tonight, and ask ourselves, what more can I do next time?

And I *hope* that we can do it civilly, respectfully, and graciously.
