midnight fifty six

  • I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be blogging in the middle of the night, but I'm here anyways, so you're just gonna have to deal.
  • Once upon a time I had a giveaway, and then I forgot to pick a winner, so I'm picking a winner now. I pick 12 because it's my most favoritest number... Now I have to go see who lucky comment number 12 is....
  • Meanwhile, last night while I was up way past my bedtime, I realized that my children consistently sleep through the night. I don't know when it happened, but happen it did. Which means now I have to once again try and readjust my sleep schedule. (You know that when  you have people that wake up in the middle of the night, you might as well just stay awake until you have mommy duty, because, really, who wants to go to bed just to wake up an hour later? Nobody, that's who.)

  • Sometimes I worry that I scare Heather when I talk about my kids. Not scare her ABOUT my children, but just instill a very heavy sense of WORRY in her about her future children. Luckily, I have a secret to tell her called, nobody knows what they're doing and your kids don't care either
  • Well, they might care a little bit. But not much. See, kids think it's AWESOME to eat cereal for dinner. They like that they can play outside for hours. They like being their own little people within their own little worlds. In fact, I would almost say that a lot of the parents I talk to/interact are in serious need of a shot of just calm the heck down already

  • Wow, now I'm getting all preachy and whatnot which was not the goal of the night, but still, CALM DOWN PEOPLE. So your 3 year old can read, who cares? Not me, that's for danged sure, but I truly appreciate you telling me the results of all the studies from all the years of research about teaching kids to read. I fully applaud you for creating the most socially awkward child ever, but HEY, at least he's a genius! Let me know how that works out for you when he's completely smarter than you by age 6, and ornery and defiant by 8. Yep, I'll take my regular kids over yours pretty much any day of the week.
  • And on that highly offensive note, I'm outta here. Because is midnight fifty six and I'm sure I'll regret this posting in the morning.... Yes, it is the morning now, but I'm referring to the morning that will happen when I wake up after actually going to bed. Yes, that's how it works inside my head.
