Spring Break: Day OVER!

Today was the last day of spring break.

It is a school night.

I am so excited I could do cartwheels.

To celebrate, I made my children crawl in the attic and put all the winter clothes away.

That's right. NO. MORE. LONG SLEEVED. ANYTHING.

I debated putting the long pants away, but decided, that I really like my kids to wear long pants at school.

Yes, I'm anti-short for school.

In fact, the thing that bothers me the most about our current school is the *lack* of a dress code.

Seriously.

I even asked the office what the dress code policy was and they were all, "Oh, you know. Appropriate school wear."

WHAT KIND OF ANSWER IS THAT?

Of course, maybe that's because people dress a little bit differently here than where I'm from.

(They actually wear clothes.)

I'm also realizing that they probably think I'm a hick.

AWESOME.

  1. Our school system has a pretty clear dress code that includes no tank tops or sleeveless shirts and no leggings unless there's something covering the rear area (long shirt/tunic, skirt/dress).

I'd keep at least one hoodie or fleece handy for each child. I can promise you that you'll need them again at least once this month and sometime in the first three weeks of May.

  2. Oh, I did. I kept out the hoodies and the rain jackets.

Snow bibs and such are gone though.

  6. I loved having uniforms...made it so easy to decide what the kids would wear each day!

I always have a couple of sweaters handy - year round...even when it's 99 degrees outside. I freeze when I go into restaurants or doctors offices:-(

  7. When my kids were a little younger I loved putting away winter clothes. I found I missed seeing their chubby little legs and arms.
