Springtime in Virginia

This is our first spring in Virginia.

Every time I look outside, I have to stop and stare.

Pretty in Pink.

The deck is surrounded by blooms.

I think my tree is PMSing.

This might be a weed. I don't know, but if it is, it sure is a pretty one.

Did you know I have a wild strawberry patch? 'Cause I do.

Itty Bitty Blooms.

I have these in the front and back yards.

And they come in PINK.

I can't believe these irises. I feel so exotic.

My daily schedule now includes "Sit on the deck and waste time"

I love Spring.

  1. Rhododendrons. . .my friend. . and no, the don't grow here in AZ. They need water, and not too hot heat. :) Enjoy! Oh, and the last one is an Iris.

  6. Those pink and white ones are azaleas, I believe. They grow all over here Texas. I love Virginia, and I always hope my husband gets transferred there.

  7. How did I not know you were living in VA?? I grew up there...it'll always be home to me. Spring and Fall in Virginia make me feel as if it just may be one of the most beautiful places on earth...

    Now I'm totally homesick!

  9. I think your weed might be columbine, but I'd need a photo with more of the greenery to tell.

  13. Matt talked to Troy the other day about us coming out sometime in June. He said he was going to call him again and see when works best for you guys and then determine for how long. Like I said, it's all up in the air for now. Sorry to spring it on you like that.

  14. I just got back after a few weeks out of town and my flowers are so pretty! I think not having all 4 seasons is a crime.

  15. I didn't read through the comments so I don't know if anyone said this already - but I think that weed is a columbine(common name) or Aquilega. It is shade plant (is it growing in shade?) It is a perennial and will come back year after year.
